PENSTEMON MIX
WILD PENSTEMON
Penstemon spp.
2 years to flower
INFO: This entire seed lot was harvested in the mountains east of Florence, Montana. This is a mix of Penstemon wild flowers native to Montana and our Inter-Mountain West Ecosystems. This provides safe food for many pollinators including hummingbirds.
PLANTING: Seeds need a stratification period (cold/wet cycle) for 50-70 days to awaken from their dormancy, mimicking transition from Fall to Spring. Either direct sow in a permanent bed, or start in trays outdoors and let the snows and rains awaken them. Transplant when weather settles. Drought tolerant, yet water helps.
