SUNFLOWER, CHILD SIZED
INFO: I grew out these super duper awesome child sized sunflowers (say that fast 5 times) at the MISSOULA GRAIN AND VEGETABLE Farm in Stevensville, Montana. These sunflowers have super fat stalks, are child sized (3-5 feet tall), and have heads almost a foot across. POLLINATOR AND BIRD FAVORITE.
HOW TO: Direct seed about 3 seeds per foot 1-2 weeks before your last Spring frost, and thin (and eat) your seedlings to about 1 per foot. Plant with other flowers or natives and keep your favorite pollinators fed with this “super food” for pollinators. The Monarch butterfly loves this plant. Keep some seed for the birds. Water weekly.
