INFO

MONTANA GROWN CORN WITH NO ADDITIONAL IRRIGATION ASIDE FROM RAIN OR SNOW MELT.

SEED GROWN IN BIG SANDY, MONTANA

CERTIFIED ORGANIC AND NON-GMO.  TESTED NON-GMO EVERY YEAR.

SEED GROWN BY GOOD FRIENDS DAVE CHRISTENSEN AND CHARLEY OVERBAY.

Original seed stock was gathered from my buddy Dave back in the 70's from Native elders around the west and mostly Montana all prior to the unethical genetic modification of corn.  He has since gathered and naturally selected for over 40 years a continual improvement of Painted Mountain natural genetics.  He has been selecting for an 8 row colored corn with long and skinny cobs to dry in our short Northern climate of Montana.

Awesome corn ground for grits, corn meal, cracked corn, or whole for soups, breads, meal, parched corn, and even the best tasting corn on the cob I've ever eaten folks.

Color = Nutrition, high levels of protein, and anti-oxidants.

Matures in approx 90 days... depending on your microclimate (local growing conditions).

PLANTING

Sow 2-3 weeks BEFORE last Spring frost.  Sow with the early Spring rains and cold soils which you will never find in "normal" yellow sweet corn that needs chemicals and fertilizer to grow and survive.  This corn does NOT need tons of water, instead it despises wet feet....remember this seed corn is NOT irrigated for a reason.

DROUGHT TOLERANT.

Sow your corn in a block pattern, not a straight line. Since corn is wind pollinated, a block pattern aids in wind germination. It will enjoy rich chemical free composty dirt full of happy earthworms and excited insects.

Germination rate 90%

Seed count ~3/4 ounce or 50-70 seeds
