This seed was wild harvested in the Bitterroot Valley of western Montana. This Montana native is crucial to the Monarch butterfly. Her babies eat ONLY milkweed. Dead stalks make strong cordage, and I sleep on a Milkweed seed fluff pillow every nite. P.S…I AINT A WEED so let me grow and be in peace.
Two options: (1) Sow seeds on surface of starting tray from Dec to early Feb. Keep covered moist with snow or water until they sprout in Spring. (2) Directly sow on surface in a permanent bed from Fall to early Spring. Seeds need at least a 45 day stratification (cold/wet cycle) to break dormancy.
