This is a sprouting type Italian heirloom broccoli first introduced to America in 1890. Compact 3-4 inch blue/green heads all maturing at various rates. Famous for many small to medium sized side shoots for a fun and continuous harvest season. Cutting heads encourages new tasty shoots. Mr. Lau (seed grower) has been growing this variety for several seasons. "Shirley" a local/regionally adapted seed variety. Seed is grown using organic standards and zero chemical input.
Transplant or direct sow around last Spring frost. Start plants 4 weeks prior to transplant date. Mature spacing is 1 foot in row and 2 feet between rows. Enjoys chemical free compost and weekly waterings. Please inspire children to grow.
