Ratibida columnifera
Montana Native
This seed lot is harvested by us in the mountains east of Florence, Montana in the awe-inspiring Bitterroot Valley. A 12-24 inch tall perennial with yellow/red flowers which can brighten any pollinator's day or interested human. This beauty is quite amazing at enjoying drought or will thank you for more frequent waterings.
1- Mix seeds with 3 tablespoons of fine sand to aid in even seed distribution in permanent spot by late April to early May. 2- Start seeds in trays and transplant outside after Spring frosts. Seeds are not harmed by we, cold, or freezing temps... this actually helps them sprout. My website blogs offer ideas for starting/saving seeds.
Sows at least a 15 square foot bed.
